Put on your thinking caps and come to this three-day exchange of problem solving in paintings conservation. Designed for all levels of paintings conservators, this collaborative workshop will present different points of view blending American and European strategies for the conservation of paintings on canvas.
The philosophy of “Minimal Conservation Intervention” will be presented through theory, in discussion and lecture, as well as practical hands on demonstrations of techniques. The goal of this workshop will be to refine your critical thinking about problem solving, incorporating the life long passion of Vishwa Mehra's pioneering work and Matteo Rossi Doria's contemporary techniques.
Lakeside accommodation with meals included. Ample time for networking in the historic Stella Maris Retreat Center located within walking distance of downtown Skaneateles.
Schedule: Tuesday Sept. 4 - reception at 5:00pm, dinner at 6. Optional introduction at 7:00pm. Wed. Sept. 5 - 9:00am start. Friday Sept. 7 - course ends at 3:00pm.
