The mission of the West Lake Art Conservation Center’s dedicated board of directors is to secure the sustainability and advance the philosophy, vision, and good work of the founders and the team at West Lake Conservators.
Holland Gregg, Chair
Holland Gregg is a retired executive with a career spanning the arts, media, and business. He began as a musician and television producer before moving into publishing and nonprofit leadership, serving as Director of Marketing and Development at the Syracuse Opera and later producing several nationally syndicated television series. In 2002 he co-founded Patience Brewster Inc., building the company into a successful design brand before its acquisition by MacKenzie-Childs in 2018. Holland has served on the board of the Finger Lakes Land Trust and founded Citizens to Preserve the Character of Skaneateles, where he is Board Chair. He brings to WLACC decades of leadership in business, arts, and community advocacy.
Judith Watkins Tartt, Vice Chair
Judith Watkins Tartt is a retired paintings conservator with more than four decades of experience in the United States and abroad. She served as Conservator of Paintings for the Kreeger Museum in Washington, DC for 42 years and was contracted as Conservator of Paintings for institutions including the U.S. Capitol, the U.S. Department of State, the General Services Administration, the U.S. Treasury, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Sotheby’s Southeast Asia, George Washington University, and American University’s Katzen Museum. She brings deep expertise, conservation methods, and professional standards to WLACC’s board.
Sue Fadden, Treasurer
Sue Fadden is a retired banking executive with more than two decades at M&T Bank, where she served as Senior Vice President in Business & Professional Banking. Based in Cato, New York, she also served on the Cato-Meridian Central School Board, the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES Board (three terms as President), and the Central New York School Boards Association Board. She brings her longstanding financial expertise and community leadership to WLACC.
Patience Brewster, Secretary
Patience Brewster is an artist and designer known for her children’s books, illustrations, greeting cards, home decor and holiday ornaments. She created an internationally distributed, one-artist brand, shepherding every step of each hand made piece from her original art to finished product. MacKenzie-Childs bought her company in 2018. A founding board member at WLACC, she brings her passion for art, community and art conservation to WLACC.
Steven Scheinman
Steven Scheinman, MD, is an academic nephrologist and medical educator. He is known internationally for his research on the genetics of renal disease and kidney stones. He served for 18 years as dean of two medical schools, for a decade as president of one of them, in executive positions in the Geisinger health system and in leadership roles in national medical education organizations. He currently chairs the board of the Skaneateles Festival. He brings to WLACC a love of the arts and executive leadership experience.
Philippe Lemaitre
Philippe Lemaitre is a global business leader with more than four decades of executive and board experience in the automotive, electronics, software, and hydraulics industries. He has chaired three Nasdaq-listed companies and held senior leadership roles at MFLEX, Woodhead Industries, AMP, and TRW. With extensive international experience in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, he brings deep expertise in strategy, governance, and global business development to WLACC.
